If the "adaptive fast charging" wall adapter is not used the speed depends
on your device's battery size and power source used (2A output power
source or higher is required for good speeds). With a standard 2A wall
adapter (NOT the
"adaptive fast charging" adapter) the charge rate is 30%-40% per hour
in my test of a Note II, Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S5. A dead battery should
charge to full in 2-4 hours. (different amperage power sources can
make these results vary up or down) I've been doing this a long time
and have found that most cables on eBay take 8-12 hours or more
to complete a charge.
